Governing Body SPECIAL Meeting (Work Session) @ Law Enforcement Center, Classroom A
Feb 15 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

In 2022, the City of Topeka engaged the community in a process known as Outcome Based Budgeting. Through this process, City Staff and the Governing Body received feedback on the direction that citizens want the City of Topeka to go.

On February 15, 2023, the entire Governing Body will meet in a special meeting work session, where information from the community meetings a year ago, and the results of the brainstorming from January 24, will be presented. Following the presentations, the Governing Body will be tasked with coming together to determine their priority outcomes for the city. With this direction, City Staff will review the specific strategies and goals to improve the priority areas the Governing Body has determined.

On March 28, 2023 City Staff will present their plan to the Governing Body, and the City will work to accomplish the strategies and goals that are established.

Public Comment will not be permitted at either special meeting (work session). The special meetings will be televised on Channel 4, livestreamed on Facebook and the city’s livestream. Recordings of the session will be available on the city’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and the meeting will be played back on Channel 4 for future viewing. The meeting is open to the public, however, seating is limited.
